What is an All on 6?

The ALL-on-6 dental implant procedure is the creation of a complete denture, anchored to the jaw (upper) or mandible (lower) by six titanium implants, which are attached to the gum line and evenly distributed along the function.

An arch, surrounded by dentures and ceramic or porcelain dentures, completes the device by screwing into six implants mounted in the jaw. This orthodontic treatment, which has the advantage of being able to implant even on a small jaw bone volume, is intended for patients with complete or partial tooth loss in one or both jaws, or those with impaired reduced many teeth.

It corrects occlusal defects, returning more harmonious proportions to the lower face.

Types of All-on-6

"All-on-6" refers to a dental implant technique that involves placing six dental implants in the upper or lower jaw to support a full arch of teeth. There are different types of All-on-6 procedures, including:

Traditional All-on-6

In this technique, six dental implants are placed in the jawbone, and a fixed denture is attached to the implants.

Same-day All-on-6

This technique involves placing the six dental implants and attaching a provisional (temporary) denture on the same day of the surgery.

All-on-6 with immediate loading

This technique involves placing the dental implants and attaching a fixed denture on the same day of the surgery, but with a more durable and long-term restoration.

Zygomatic All-on-6

This technique is used when there is not enough bone in the jaw to support traditional dental implants. Instead, the implants are placed in the zygomatic bone (cheekbone) to support a full arch of teeth.

Ask the Doctor

The choice of the All-on-6 technique depends on various factors, including the patient's bone density, the condition of the remaining teeth, and the patient's overall dental health. Your dentist or oral surgeon can help determine which type of All-on-6 procedure is best for you.

Before All-on-6

Before considering All-on-6 dental implant treatment, a patient should typically have a consultation with a qualified dental professional, such as an oral surgeon or a prosthodontist, to evaluate their overall dental health and suitability for the procedure.

During the consultation, the dentist will perform a comprehensive oral examination, which may include X-rays or 3D imaging to assess the patient's jawbone structure and determine if there is enough bone to support the dental implants. The dentist will also evaluate the patient's medical history to ensure that there are no underlying health conditions that may affect the success of the procedure.

After All-on-6

There is no pain after the All on 6 dental implant procedure. But it is normal to feel quite a bit of pain.

If our patients have complaints like pain and swelling after the procedure, they need not panic or worry. If their pain becomes unbearable, they must use pain medication prescribed by our doctor.

But if this pain becomes permanent; they should contact their doctor as soon as possible. A little pain may be felt the first day after application, the pain reliever our doctor prescribes will easily control this.

It's normal to have mild swelling and pain for the first few days, but if these symptoms persist or get out of control, you should contact your doctor right away. Patients should continue to practice regularly without disrupting their dental care.

Healing Process

If it is possible to resume life and resume work the day after the first session, it is advisable to take a day off, especially in the case of general anesthesia. Patients will experience mild discomfort and pain in the jaw after surgery, just like any other oral surgery.

Your dentist will usually prescribe pain relievers and anti-inflammatory drugs (such as paracetamol), as well as antibiotics to prevent infection. An antibacterial mouthwash should also be used in the week following surgery.

Swelling of the surgical site can also occur, as well as painful bruising, which usually goes away after a few days. If necessary, it may be necessary to see a dentist. Several warning signs can be used to detect potential dental implant rejection: loss of sensation when brushing or chewing, the bone around the implant (visible on x-rays), inability to move…

However, these cases are very rare: The success rate after ALL-on-6 surgery is nearly 98%, with 2% failure due to jaw bone rejection of the implant.

The length of time you need to stay in Turkey for the surgery will depend on the specific details of your procedure and your recovery.

Typically, the surgery is performed as an outpatient procedure, and the patient can go home the same day. However, you may need to stay in Turkey for a few days to allow time for post-operative check-ups and to make sure the eye is healing properly.

The number of days in advance you should come to Turkey for the surgery will depend on the specific details of your procedure and your travel plans.

Typically, you will need to schedule a preoperative consultation with the surgeon before the procedure. This appointment is necessary to assess your eye health, determine the best type of lens implant for your needs, and discuss the details of the surgery.

All-on-6 implants make teeth more stable and stronger. However, it depends on the condition of the patient's teeth, gums and jawbone. Two additional implants enhance the jawbone in the all-on-6 dental implant.

This process allows patients to replace all of their teeth with six natural-looking dental implants. All-On-6® dental implants generally do not require bone grafting, which means they are the ideal solution for patients with low bone density or low jaw bone volume.

Just like with natural teeth, you can clean bridges by brushing, you should brush 2 to 3 times a day. This helps remove plaque from your implants and gum line. Using a toothbrush with soft bristles, brush your implant in a circular motion for 2 minutes.

The entire procedure can be completed in a day and is usually completed in 2-4 hours. While the all-on-6 procedure usually doesn't require a bone graft, it may be needed depending on the person's bone density.

For those who need to replace all their missing teeth at once, All-on-4 and All-on-6 are great permanent solutions to consider. No removable dentures and implants help prevent the drunkenness we often see with tooth loss.

The 3-in-6 method restores a smile using already existing healthy bones. Sometimes a bone graft is used to strengthen the implant area. 3 out of 6 is better than All-on-4 because you can clean it at home by brushing and flossing. It is also not necessary to remove it to clean it.

Many dental professionals recommend using a manual toothbrush for the first few weeks after implant placement. This practice can help prevent irritation of sensitive tissues during the healing process. Once the area has healed, an electric toothbrush is a great option for regular home cleaning.

Does surgery and implant placement “all in 4” fail? Although every 4 failed surgeries and dental implant installations can fail, this is extremely rare! The success rate is around 94% to 97%. Thousands of people have had successful permanent transplants.

Brushing is recommended after dental implant placement. The more we can clean your mouth and the surgical site, the lower the risk of infection. Brushing of the surgical area should be done VERY GENTLY, so that the antibiotic mouthwash can clean most of the area.
