What is Breast Lift in Turkey?

Cosmetic breast augmentation, also known as mastopexy, is a surgical procedure performed by a professional plastic surgeon to change the shape of your breasts. During breast augmentation, excess skin is removed and breast tissue is reshaped to lift the breasts.

You can choose breast augmentation in Turkey, if the breasts sag, the nipples are facing down, sagging breasts are already famous. Breast augmentation can also enhance your self-image and confidence, but only you can set goals.

As a result of weight loss, breastfeeding or aging, the breast tissue may lose its volume. With breast lift surgery, it is possible to correct the appearance of sagging breasts that have lost their vitality. If the breast tissue does not have a sufficient volume, breast augmentation surgery may not be sufficient for sagging breasts. Surgical sagging is removed, but it does not add volume to the breast. In such cases, breast lifting, and augmentation surgery can be applied together.

Types of Breast Lift in Turkey

Several types of breast lift surgeries are commonly performed in Turkey. Here are some of the most popular types:

Periareolar lift

This procedure involves an incision around the areola, and is best suited for women with mild sagging.

Vertical lift

Also known as a lollipop lift, this procedure involves an incision around the areola and down the center of the breast and is ideal for moderate sagging.

Anchor lift

This technique involves an incision around the areola, a vertical incision down the breast, and a horizontal incision along the breast crease. It is best suited for women with significant sagging.

Crescent lift

This is a less invasive procedure that involves a small incision at the top of the areola, and is best suited for women with minimal sagging.

Before Breast Lift in Turkey

First, you will talk with a plastic surgeon about breast lift. During your first visit, your plastic surgeon:

  • Review your medical history: Be prepared to answer questions about current and past medical conditions. This includes if you have a family history of breast cancer.
Share the results of your mammogram or breast biopsy. Talk about any medications you're taking or have recently taken, as well as any surgeries you've had.
  • Do a physical exam: To determine treatment options, your surgeon will examine your breasts, including the position of the nipple and areola. Your surgeon will also take into account the quality of your complexion. Well-toned breast skin will keep the breasts in a better position after breast augmentation. The surgeon can take pictures of your breasts for medical records.
  • Discuss your expectations: Explain why you want breast augmentation. Be clear about how you want your breasts to be cared for during surgery. Make sure you understand the risks and benefits, including scarring and changes in nipple or breast sensation.

Before the operation you might also need to:

  • Schedule a mammogram: Your surgeon may recommend a baseline mammogram before the procedure. You may also need another mammogram a few months later. This will allow your medical team to see changes in your breast tissue and interpret future mammograms.
  • Stop smoking: Smoking reduces blood flow to the skin and can slow wound healing. If you smoke, it is important to stop smoking before surgery.
  • Avoid certain medications: You'll probably need to avoid aspirin, anti-inflammatory drugs, and herbal supplements, which can increase bleeding.
  • Arrange for help with the recovery process: Make plans to have someone drive you home after surgery and be with you as you begin to recover. You may need someone to help you with everyday activities, such as washing your hair, during your initial recovery.
  • Have a healthy weight: Consider changing your diet or following an exercise program to help you lose weight if you've gained weight in the past year.

After the Procedure

After breast augmentation, your breasts will likely be covered with gauze and a surgical bra. Small tubes may be placed over the incision sites in your chest to drain off excess blood or fluid.

Your breasts will swell and bruise for about two weeks. You will probably feel some pain and soreness around the incision, and the incision will be red or pink for several months. Numbness in the nipples, areola, and skin in the breasts can last about six weeks.

For the first few days after breast augmentation, take pain medication as recommended by your healthcare provider. Avoid straining, bending, and lifting. Lie on your back or side while sleeping to avoid pressure on your chest.

Avoid sexual activity for at least 1-2 weeks after breast augmentation surgery. Ask your healthcare provider when you can resume your daily activities, such as washing your hair, showering, or bathing.

A drain can be placed near your incision and is usually removed within a few days. When your healthcare provider removes the tube, they will likely change or remove your bandage.

Healing Process

Talk to your provider to find out when – or if – your stitches will be removed. Some stitches dissolve on their own. Your provider must remove certain types of stitches, usually 1 to 2 weeks after the procedure.

Continue wearing a 24-hour surgical support bra for 3-4 days. You will then wear a soft bra for 3-4 weeks. Your healthcare provider may suggest that you use an adhesive bandage or silicone gel over your incision to promote healing.

While you heal, keep your breasts out of direct sunlight. Then, protect your incision from sun exposure.

The length of stay in Turkey for a breast lift procedure typically depends on individual circumstances and the extent of the surgery. On average, it is recommended to stay in Turkey for 7-10 days.

It is recommended to arrive in Turkey 2-3 days before the scheduled breast lift surgery. This allows time for pre-operative consultations, medical evaluations, and preparation for the procedure.

After breast augmentation, you will experience some discomfort, swelling, and bruising. Your skin may feel tight. These effects improve over time and last for about two weeks. If you have drains near your incision, your healthcare team will remove them a few days after the procedure.

For many women, breast tissue is fully developed by age 16, but for others, their breasts continue to grow and develop into their twenties. Young women between the ages of 18 and 25 who have fully developed breasts and desire a fuller appearance can have this procedure.

The surgery carries a risk of complications, although breast augmentation surgery itself is generally very safe. Your surgeon and care team will be in touch with you throughout your healing process and are available to address any concerns you may have. Risks specific to breast augmentation surgery include temporary numbness.

In general, women can usually enjoy the results of breast augmentation surgery for about 10-15 years, although some patients may take longer before needing revision.

In most cases, any change in nipple sensation is temporary and usually goes away within 6-8 weeks after the breast augmentation procedure. The reason nipple sensation may be affected is that the nerve supplying the nipple may be disrupted during surgery.

The operation usually reduces the bra size to a full cup. However, in a study published in the Journal of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, the official medical journal of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, it was suggested that this has little to do with is more concerned with loss of volume than the recovery of comfort.

Vampire Breast Augmentation (VBL) increases your breasts without surgery. Providers inject platelet-rich plasma (PRP) to improve skin texture and make your breasts appear fuller. Side effects are minimal, but can include bruising, swelling, and pain, and there is no downtime.

Breast lift is safer than breast implants. Women are increasingly aware of the benefits of breast augmentation surgery. There has been an increase in the number of combined procedures involving both breast lift and breast implants.

Breast augmentation is considered a minor surgery, not big but still needs time to rest. After surgery, your breasts will be tender and sore, and you will need bed rest to recover. There will be some discomfort, but your doctor will prescribe medication and ice to help relieve the pain.

You will be awake but unable to feel pain. The surgeon will make 1 to 3 surgical incisions (incisions) in your breast. Excess skin, and sometimes breast tissue, will be removed and your nipples and areola may be displaced. Sometimes women get breast augmentation (enlarged with implants) when they have breast augmentation.
